My name is Vincent, I'm 24 years old and from Germany. I finished college with a major in product design in June 2018 and started studying Computer Animation in September 2018 at the University for the Creative Arts in the UK.
Starting from a young age I was very creative and my parents always encouraged my many-sided artistic interests. Since grade four I attended a Waldorf School which varied offer extended my artistic horizon (drawing, painting, modeling, sculpting, sewing, weaving, bookbinding, blacksmithing).
Ever since I saw my first horse at the age of two I fell in love with those majestic creatures aka I was crazy about horses. That’s why I took riding lessons for many years and tried different riding styles as well. Those lessons helped me to understand the anatomy of the horse, as well as its movement and behavior.
I always collected horse figures of all kinds but it wasn’t until the age of 14 that I used my knowledge and artistic interest to resculpt and repaint them. Even though my first attend was awful (so awful), my ambition was strong enough to keep trying.
Sharing my work online helped me to develop my skills, find inspirations, friends and other artists. Without all these lovely people and their support I got online or at BreyerFest, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
Nowadays I’ve grown as an artist and resculpt and repaint Schleich and Breyer horses of all scales, create dioramas for my models and even sculpt my own figures and cast them in resin.
Due to my determined work, years of practice and two internships at the Schleich company, I was offered a freelancer job at Schleich in 2017 and gladly accepted it. Therefore I was able to sculpt various models for their Farm World, Horse Club and Bayala range, which are sold in stores worldwide.
My main aim is to express something with my art:
Some portray the art of horses, but I portray horses as art.
